Seek Good and Not Evil

Amos 5:14 – Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and do the Lord of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.

Israel had become a den of iniquity, a land of hypocrisy, a place where the poor were trodden down and the name of the Lord was not honored.
You, Lord, are the just judge of all the nations. You judged your people Israel for their sins, and you will not do less with the Gentiles. Blessed is that nation whose God is the Lord! But if men forget God and persist down the path to destruction, we know there is a just God in Heaven to whom they must answer. Let us not think that our nation is exempt from your judgments, O Lord, but let us seek real revival that you may bless us and not curse us, as a nation. Amen.

Today there are many challenges and struggles in life that can easily have you choose to do evil over doing good in order to make your life easier. You can choose to lie, steal, backstab others, take drugs, make deals with evil forces, and the list goes on and on. Unfortunately as the list goes on the consequences for those choices continues to get worse and worse. The good news is as you chose to do good instead of to do evil the opposite is true. If you choose to talk the truth in the face of pain, help others that are in need, take care of yourself, choose to only deal with forces of good and positive people and spirits, and stand up for and follow the one and only true God then your rewards will only continue to grow.
